The Cat's Meow... The Puma on the prowl... The Kitty Krawl...

So my friends threw me a BASH (to put it lightly) for my 30th birthday.  Of course both of my DEVA sisters and their hubbies came in town to celebrate too!!!! I am one lucky cat!

The theme was "The Cat's Meow"  And yes, we all wore something cat related....

The day started with the trolley pub through downtown... Boy was that a blast.. We blasted hilarious music and meowed our way through the streets and bars....

Yes, I wore cat ears that were gold with pearls on them! :)

And then on to the bar where I was BLOWN AWAY by all the love from my friends and family that showed up to celebrate!!! If this is any window into how great of a year 30 is going to be, then I am pumped to be here!!!!!!

Yes, I am officially a Puma now... I am not opposed to younger men. haha! :)

Sick of sick

This winter has been the worst within one month (30 days) my family has gotten the stomach bug twice, the flu, fevers, nasal congestion and coughs. It is so pitiful seeing the little ones so miserable and when you throw in traveling and teething the combination gets leathal. I have heard myself repeat over and over "I am so tired" "I am just tired".

But then there are moments like this:
He threw up all night and we were watching the new favorite cartoon of the moment (rescue bots if you were wondering). He wanted the hood on! Now he wants to go to the beach to use his new towel that Santa brought him! But back to this morning, we were watching his show when this little face turns to me and says: "I love you mommy. I will keep you for ever and ever!"

Can someone come mop me off the floor?

Go Cocks!!

I have been accused of being an insta-fan of the Gamecocks. I guess it is true since I became a fan last year when Bryce bought me a season ticket so I could go to the games with him. When you have a season ticket to the games, I feel like you have to root for the home team. Bryce is a HUGE football fan so it gives us something to do together. We bought a couple tickets from some of our friends for the USC vs. Tennessee. Needless to say we are not going to discuss the outcome of that game!

We were in charge of the food for tailgating so fajitas were thrown on the grill. It was extremely gloomy and cold that day, but we didn't care because that was the only game we were going to get to go to this year. We bundled up and had a great time with friends and cheering on the home team! We left when the Gamecocks were two touchdowns ahead a little bit into the fourth quarter. Of course it all went downhill from there. I knew we shouldn't have left early! But sadly my health was starting to fade and Bryce insisted on getting me in a warm car to take care of me.

Wifely Duties

Bryce is making the transition in his job from being a financial analyst to a full financial planner. This whole process started in July (right before our wedding!), where he is slowly decreasing his salary and going to straight commissions. We are about halfway there! By the end of December he will no longer be bringing in any guaranteed money. Talk about scary.

Through this transition, I am trying to be as helpful as possible. He has to work a lot of late nights and is out of the house some mornings before I even wake up. It has put a strain on us because we aren't seeing each other as much as we were used to, but we are making it work. Date nights have become more of a necessity even if it is only cooking dinner together and watching one of our TV shows.

With him taking on more at work, the transition also means more wifely duties for me. I got an email from Bryce about two weeks ago from one of his co-workers stating that she needs the company Christmas cards from everyone by Thanksgiving. My first response was, "Ummm... what Christmas cards?". In the email she even designated this assignment to the "wives" of the planners. Oh geez, thanks... Come to find out, we are now going to be doing Christmas cards for his clients. I am just thankful that I was given a heads up. So trying to be the good, supportive, new wife, I started researching where we could get the best deal on the cards. Bryce and I picked out a picture from our wedding that we wanted to use so I just had to find the format. I looked on a lot of different websites and came across Walgreens running a 50% off coupon for photo cards. Of course they are pushing their Halloween themed ones, but I didn't care. I found the perfect one and ordered away. When I got to Walgreens to pick them up, the man behind the photo counter laughed at me! He said, "This must be your first time, huh?". I just had to laugh because of course he was right. This was my first time ordering Christmas cards and yes I am way ahead of schedule; but I felt like I couldn't pass up that kind of coupon! So what if I am two months early, at least I have them done and ready for the holiday season.

Now I just have to start addressing all of them...
